Who We Are...

Thin Black Line was founded by Erik Quisling and Jeremy Penick, two musicians who grew up in and around the gold rush country of Northern California.  Both chased their dreams down to Los Angeles.

Jeremy found success when his heavy rock band Depswa was signed to Geffen Records.  As the front man, guitarist, and songwriter, Jeremy and Depswa toured the world sharing the stage with bands such as Korn, Mudvayne, and Ozzy Osbourne.

Erik also found success in the music industry as a virtuosic piano player and songwriter.  However, his greatest success came with his bestselling book "Straight Whisky: A Living History of Sex, Drugs, and Rock'n'Roll on the Sunset Strip."  Regarded as the official biography of the famed Whisky A Go Go, Roxy, and Rainbow Bar and Grill, it was also the subject of his documentary film "Welcome to the Rainbow."  Erik is also an entrepreneur and his internet company Buyabarcode.com is the largest seller of UPC barcodes in the world.

Together, Erik and Jeremy both share a love for southern rock and country music and it was those two genres that inspired the formation of Thin Black Line.
